It appears that the most fundamental element of the poetics of ruins is the same silent melancholy that becomes cogitative for the abrupt encounter with physical destruction, especially when confront with a sample of nature or secondary nature that directly embodies or reflects it.

What belongs to the philosophy of destruction in this regard is not the destruction itself, but rather its subjective impact on the observer. This subjective impact, more than anything, refers to timing and therefore to history. We are confronted with the temporality of destruction in this experience, facing a nature that has passed through its own destruction, displaying the passage of time and the course of history.
