The Off—Space Project
The Off—Space Project, part of Choom Outside, is an ongoing effort to bring art into everyday spaces.
Our aim is to bring art closer to its audience not through formal exhibitions, but by placing artworks within spaces where daily life naturally unfolds.
This project is not merely about installing artworks on walls; rather, it is about creating moments for dialogue, pause, and encounter.
The eighth stop of the Off—Space Project arrives at Normal Café in Rasht.
This chapter presents a dialogue between four artistic encounters with the mountain, featuring works by Majid Faal, Hannaneh Jaloo, Zahra Amiryeganeh, and Keiman Mahabadi.
A mountain is never merely a landscape. It carries memory, stillness, resilience, and time within itself. Each artist approaches this form from a distinct perspective, shaping unique relationships with scale, texture, and presence.
“Ridgeline” refers to the line connecting the highest points of a mountain a narrow boundary between two slopes, between ascent and descent, between earth and sky.
At Normal Café, this boundary once again transforms into a lived experience. Amid conversation, movement, and the repetition of daily life, the mountain interrupts habitual ways of seeing, creating a moment for pause and contemplation.
Here, landscape becomes a ground for reflection a place where distance meets intimacy, and seeing becomes a form of sensing.
